Refurbishment – Project Value $1,450,000
McDonalds King St Newcastle Store included the Refurbishment of the entire store plus the construction of a new extension of the dining, playland and party room areas. As the store is open 7 days a week, all works were completed in occupied environment over a 18 week process in four stages.
Scope of work was typical to any commercial or retail fitout including demolition, concrete, structural steel, brickwork, fc cladding, external wall tiling, rendering, metal roofing, provision of new wall and floor finishes, partitions, ceilings, detailed joinery, external works, services and the like. The difficulty of the project was staging in an occupied environment. Due to a compressed time frame and limited access to the store and 7 day of operation the works were completed in a staged process during and outside normal working hours.
Despite the tight time frame and extensive rain delays the project was completed on schedule meeting our client expectations, including the Store Managers commendation on the high quality of finish and minimal impact on store revenue during refurbishment works.
Our Director’s Paul Boyd (Construction/Project Manager) managed this project to completion in late May 2012.
